About Ryan M. Smith:

Biography & Education

Dr. Smith practices at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan, where he serves as Associate Program Director in the family medicine residency program. He completed his medical degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and residency at Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital, where he also served as a Chief Resident. 

Dr. Smith has held numerous leadership positions with the Michigan ACOFP, the Michigan Osteopathic Association, Community Service Committee-Oakland Primary Care, and the Student Government Association, among others. He served as the Chair of the ACOFP Resident Council, as a Delegate in the ACOFP Congress of Delegates, and as a member of the Clinical Preparation Committee of the Student Association of the ACOFP. 

Dr. Smith has a passion for faculty development and has worked with national healthcare organizations to facilitate multiple faculty assessments, senior leader, and physician wellness workshops. Dr. Smith has a passion for educating the next generation of family physicians encompassing a holistic approach to each patient.
