Digital Health For Practicing Clinicians

Estimate time for completion: 5 hours

This certification is a must for physicians who want to provide exceptional care in the digital era of healthcare.

Content was jointly guided by The Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) and Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine - Digital Health Track (RVU-DHT) faculty, and researched by students at RVU-DHT as some of the first physicians trained specifically in digital health. The course is presented in partnership with ACOFP.

Learning Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this eight-part course, learners will:

  • Obtain an overview of digital health and understand the differences between digital health, digital medicine, and digital therapeutics.
  • See how new, patient-centered approaches to evaluating digital health products can lead to safe, effective, equitable, and ethical patient care.
  • Understand the changing roles of clinicians with technology and how digital medicine tools can support the evolving future of healthcare.
  • Realize new opportunities for efficiently acquiring new skills and incorporating “digital” into patient care.
  • Learn best practices for how to integrate digital medicine and digital therapeutic products into real-life clinical settings.

Comprehensive Care for Persons with Diabetes

Explore the many facets of diabetes care and management in this certificate, developed by endocrinologists and family physicians. This certificate is presented in partnership with ACOFP and the Endocrine Society.

Learning Objectives

Upon the successful completion of this 12-part course, learners will:

  • Describe the spectrum of diabetes and considerations in special populations to provide personalized care. 
  • Identify patient-centered approaches to support psychosocial concerns and social determinants of health in patients with diabetes. 
  • Recognize approaches to patient engagement for successful approaches to prevention of progression of prediabetes to type 2 diabetes. 
  • Apply medical therapy options of insulin and non-insulin treatments to managing patient cases. 
  • Compare innovative approaches to care delivery with new technology and therapeutic options.
