Why Join ACOFP?
Advocacy, Education & Community
Support through Every Stage of Your Career
ACOFP has built a community of more than 26,000 practicing physicians, residents, medical students, and other allied health professionals across the country.
Here are some of the benefits our members enjoy:
Students Join Free
Students enrolled in a College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) accredited by COCA can enjoy free access to ACOFP membership, educational resources, events, and leadership development opportunities. Additionally, the ACOFP Resident Council supports and mentors students in smoothly transitioning from medical school to residency.
Students benefit from networking opportunities with experienced osteopathic family medicine physicians, financial support through our awards program, exclusive access to the largest library of OMT techniques with your COMs subscription, and learning about the diversity of family medicine from peers, residents, and practicing physicians. Plus access to the Osteopathic Family Physician (OFP), ACOFP’s official peer-reviewed journal.
Residents Join Free
Residents in a family medicine post-doctoral program accredited by the ACGME can take advantage of numerous benefits provided by ACOFP. These include access to grant funding opportunities to support their professional growth and pathway to board certification.
Additionally, residents receive complimentary access to a wealth of educational materials, events, and conventions, keeping them informed about the latest advancements in family medicine. ACOFP resident members are supported financially by the Early Entry Initial Certification Grant and with leadership training from the opportunity to participate in the annual Future Leaders Conference. The ACOFP Career Center's job listings provide valuable resources for securing employment post-residency, and networking opportunities facilitate connections with seasoned professionals and peers. Residents can also access the Osteopathic Family Physician (OFP), ACOFP’s official peer-reviewed journal, at no cost.
New Physician-in-Practice Benefits
New physicians in practice can significantly benefit from ACOFP's comprehensive support during their first five years. This period includes discounts on membership fees, making it easier to access ACOFP’s extensive resources and community.
New physicians can access the Osteopathic Family Physician (OFP), ACOFP’s official peer-reviewed journal to stay abreast of the latest research in the field, as well as access to the OMTotal video library, a video library with over 150 OMT videos, including billing.
Additionally, new physicians receive substantial discounts on Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses and certificate courses, helping them stay current with medical advancements and maintain their certifications at a lower cost. These benefits also extend to exclusive events and conventions, providing valuable opportunities for networking and professional development. By easing financial burdens and offering continuous educational support, ACOFP ensures that new physicians can focus on delivering high-quality patient care and advancing their careers.
Physician Benefits
Physicians can benefit from discounts on CME courses, products, and services, as well as certificate programs, along with access to thousands of job openings and resources to help manage their practice.
