Hands-On Learning

We have several in-person, hands-on workshops to give family medicine students, residents, and physician-in-practice experience with the newest techniques in osteopathic medicine. Just a few of our most popular workshops include POCUS, OMT, joint injections, wound care, and more!

OMT Next Level

There are two pathways available to AOBFP diplomates who hold an active FP/OMT board certification to fulfill the OCC Component 3 requirement to maintain their Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) certification.

• PATHWAY 1: Successfully pass one (1) performance examination every nine (9) years, and complete and pass one (1) OMT longitudinal assessment module every three (3) years.
• PATHWAY 2: Complete eight (8) hours of AOBFP-approved OMT hands-on training every nine (9) years, and complete and pass one (1) OMT longitudinal assessment module every three (3) years.

ACOFP is currently the only organization that can offer AOBFP-approved OMT hands-on training. The hands-on training opportunities are available every year at the ACOFP Annual Convention (April) and at OMED (fall).
