About Stephen Legault:

Biography & Education

Stephen Legault, MSW, CAE, has over 17 years of experience working with nonprofits and nearly 12 years working in associations. 

Legault is the Director of Knowledge, Learning & Assessment at the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), serving in this position since September of 2019.

In 2021, Legault earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) certification from ASAE, marking his commitment to leading in the association space.

Prior to his association career, Legault worked as a social worker supporting children in foster care and people experiencing homelessness. 

Legault is an active volunteer for Association Forum as the former Chair of Holiday Showcase Programming and a current member of the Public Policy group; and at ASAE as an incoming chair of the Professional Development Professionals Advisory Council. He was honored to be a recipient of ACOFP’s Distinguished Service Award in 2021 and Association Forum’s Forty Under 40 in 2019. Legault is a graduate of the University of Las Vegas-Nevada with a BA in Psychology and he earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh.
