Lead the Future of Osteopathic Family Medicine

The National Student Executive Board (NSEB) provides osteopathic medical students with the opportunity to represent their peers, strengthen student chapters, and shape national initiatives that support the next generation of family physicians.

The board consists of five elected positions—President, Vice President, Secretary, Parliamentarian, and Chapter Outreach Director—each serving a one-year term beginning at the ACOFP Annual Convention and Scientific Seminars in April.


Apply to Serve on the NSEB

Students interested in running for the NSEB must submit:

  • Completed application
  • Current curriculum vitae
  • Headshot suitable for publication
  • Video speech (maximum 3 minutes)

Video Requirements

  • Each video must include a 10-second title slide with:
  • Position applying for
  • Full name
  • Current year in school
  • College of Osteopathic Medicine
  • City and state
  • Candidates should briefly explain why they are a strong candidate and highlight relevant leadership experience.

Election Process

Candidate information and video speeches will be shared with student chapter presidents, who will review the materials and submit their votes online. Election results are announced during the Annual Meeting of the Student Association and Awards Program at the ACOFP Annual Convention.

Open Positions

President

  • Presides over NSEB and Student Association meetings
  • Oversee student committees and collaboration with ACOFP national committees
  • Ensure quarterly meetings with regional representatives and chapter leaders
  • Provides the Student Association report at the Annual Student Meeting
  • Serves as the student delegate (or appoints a representative) to the ACOFP Congress of Delegates
The position of President requires that the individual has previously served as a member of the NSEB.

Vice President

  • Assumes duties of the President when needed
  • Serves as liaison to assigned student committees
  • Acts as primary liaison to the Resident Council
  • Coordinates the national student community service, diversity, or OMT project or event
Secretary

  • Maintains meeting minutes and NSEB records
  • Collects and updates student chapter leadership rosters
  • Serves as liaison to assigned student committees
Parliamentarian

  • Ensure meetings follow Robert’s Rules of Order
  • Serves as liaison to the Resolutions Committee
  • Serves as the student alternate delegate to the ACOFP Congress of Delegates
Chapter Outreach Director

  • Supports formation of new chapters and revitalization of inactive chapters
  • Assists with student membership recruitment and engagement
  • Helps maintain accurate chapter leadership records
  • Serves as liaison to assigned student committees
