Biography & Education

Hailing from the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine in San Antonio, TX, George Yang, is passionate about uplifting underserved communities and leading as the current National Student Executive Board President. His goal for the upcoming year is to ensure that the voices of student members are not lost. He believes that each student's voice matters and the National Student Executive Board must do its very best to hear and help student members wherever possible. Student Doctor Yang feels that as the National Student Executive Board is elected by the members to lead, an important part of this leadership is to listen. Aside from ACOFP, Student Doctor Yang participates in medical research at his academic institution on OMT, serves as a board member on an international non-profit he helped to create, and loves spending time gardening.

In his role as the President of the ACOFP National Student Executive Board, Student Doctor Yang:

• Presides over all meetings of the National Student Executive Board (NSEB) and the general membership of the Student Association of the ACOFP.
• Creates a permanent record of official acts to be recorded in the minute book of the Student Association of the ACOFP.
• Oversees student committees and ensures communication between the appropriate ACOFP national committees for shared goals or activities.
• Prepares a report for the Student Delegates of the Student Association of the ACOFP to be presented at the Annual Student Meeting.
• Participates as the student delegate during the ACOFP Congress of Delegates.
