The Emerging Osteopathic Student Leader Awards recognize up to four exceptional osteopathic medical students who have made meaningful contributions to ACOFP, demonstrated a commitment to family medicine, and shown dedication to community service. Each recipient will receive $2,000 to support their education or personal needs. Review the eligibility criteria and application requirements below.
Award Criteria
- Must be an OMS II, OMS III, or OMS IV ACOFP student member
- Must be a member of both the ACOFP student chapter and national ACOFP
- Must have demonstrated meaningful contributions to ACOFP and a strong commitment to community service
- Must have attended at least one ACOFP affiliate or national convention (virtual or in-person)
Application Requirements
- Completed online application
- Current CV
- At least one letter of recommendation
- A 3–5-minute video outlining your goals and aspirations in connection to your osteopathic philosophy. Share why you are a strong candidate for the award and highlight an activity or event that positively impacted your school or community. In your video, address one of the following:
- Your level of participation and leadership in that activity, and how you plan to apply the experience to future patient care, or
- Your involvement with a local, national, or international organization, or your demonstrated contributions to ACOFP and commitment to community service.
