The Excellence in Advocacy Award recognizes family physicians who have significantly contributed their time and talents to national health care policy issues at the local, state and/or federal levels on behalf of the profession and their patients.
Award Criteria
- Must be an active ACOFP member in good standing.
- Must be currently certified in family medicine by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS).
- Must have no current restrictions on any medical licenses at the time of application.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Submission of one letter of support from the nominator highlighting the nominee’s advocacy efforts and impact on healthcare policy, particularly in advancing osteopathic family medicine.
- Submission of one letter from the nominee’s ACOFP affiliate society endorsing the nominee’s leadership and advocacy contributions. If no affiliate society is available, a letter from a national organization that advocates for osteopathic family medicine may be submitted in its place.
